Full Sail University is expanding its game design curriculum with the addition of the Game Design Bachelor of Science Online Degree Program. The new degree plan includes elements from Full Sail's on-campus Game Art and Game Development Bachelor of Science Degree Programs. Full Sail notes that the 32-month program is "designed for students who want to create compelling and inventive experiences for the next generation of games." "Having the opportunity to teach game design online allows students to peruse their passion for gaming from all over the world," said Full Sail game development course director Rob Catto. "Learning from industry professionals prepares students for a creative and competitive career in the gaming industry." Honored as 2008's "School/College of the Year" by the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges, the entertainment industry-focused Full Sail University offers 24 degree plans, including Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Animation, Game Design, Game Development, and Graphic Design. Full Sail's new Game Design Bachelor of Science Online Degree Program encompasses narrative design, character sketching, and level design, among other areas of study. At the program's conclusion, students will create a working game prototype as a final project.
