Educational statistics and evaluation leader Larry Hedges has joined
CyGaMEs (Cyberlearning through Game-based, Metaphor Enhanced Learning Objects), a National Science Foundation-funded project that researches video game learning, design, and assessment.
Hedges, a noted researcher in the fields of psychology and educational policy, is best known for his work in developing statistical methods for meta-analysis in the social, medical, and biological sciences.
Hedges believes that CyGaMEs' current research could serve as a prototype for future instructional projects, and notes that his collaboration will support the project's data collection and analysis.
The CyGaMEs project previously developed the NASA-funded
Selene, an educational lunar geology game for students. The ongoing project currently receives support from the National Science Foundation.
