This year the dates for the Annual Game Developers Conference fall during Passover, the eight-day long Jewish Holiday that celebrates the story of Moses and the Exodus from Egypt.
The holiday observance includes a ritual meal called a seder held at a minimum on the first night of Passover, though many Jews will go to more than one during the eight days.
Sam Glassenberg, CEO of Funtactix and I each began organizing one independently and then decided to join forces for our industry colleagues and their friends.
The unofficial Game Developers' Seder event will be held on Tuesday night, March 26th, from 6:00-9:00. The event will be catered by Dina's Kosher Catering. Early bird registration for the event of $49 is available at http://gamesindustryseder.eventbrite.com/
The fine folks at YetiZen have donated their space for the event. RIT's Lab for Technological Literacy is sponsoring the printing of game art inspired Haggadah's (the book used in the service) and Funtactix, Activision, Flying Kame, Offner + Associates, Prime Sense and Stubbs, Alderton and Markilies, LLP are also sponsors of the event. Information about becoming a sponsor can also be found on the Eventbrite site.
