The workplace incentive-building organization Snowfly has developed Capstone, a Web-based software application that rewards positive employee performance with points that can be redeemed for cash on employee-issued debit cards. The Capstone package also includes several optional online Flash games, which reward random point values to employees with every play.
Once employees meet predetermined goals or demonstrate desirable workplace behaviors, Capstone issues an appropriate reward via a Web-based interface. The reward may consist of cash-redeemable points or eTokens, which can be used to compete in Capstone's online Flash games. Employees have the option of playing the games either at home or at the workplace.
Capstone's games issue points based upon random chance and on how many earned eTokens are wagered. The result is never a loss for employees; every game played nets a cash-redeemable point value.
Snowfly reports that the incentive program has proven effective for several companies that are currently enrolled. Companies who use Capstone have shown reduced staff turnover and absenteeism, and increased sales and retention in employees. Users thus far have reacted positively, with the program earning a 95% approval rate overall. Other incentive plans carry an average national rate of 45% approval.
Snowfly's incentive program is currently in use by several organizations nationwide, including the First Interstate Bank of Laramie Wyoming and Regence, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
