Video: The trial by fire of making Little Inferno

Speaking at GDC 2014, Tomorrow Corporation cofounder Kyle Gray expounded on lessons learned in the making Little Inferno, ' a satirical fireplace simulator with a deep, dark secret.'
Games rarely turn out exactly the way you envisioned them, but the Tomorrow Corporation's debut title Little Inferno had a more convoluted development than most. Speaking at GDC 2014's Independent Games Summit, Tomorrow Corporation cofounder Kyle Gray admitted that Little Inferno started life as an intentionally boring fireplace simulator. Then it became an adventure game. Then an arcade game about burning the world. Then a satirical fireplace simulator with "a deep, dark secret." Gray walked through each of these major steps in his talk and explained what went right and wrong, using concept art, pitch documents and early prototypes.
