Point and Click in Javascript? Some very, very simple demonstrations. Should work in all (modern) browsers.

My son, Peter, recently played through Monkey Island. I love this game: I love its humour, its gameplay and its simplicity. In another experiment I decided to try and create a SIMPLE point and click adventure game in javascript.

I've tried in the past but always got stuck at the animation and walkbox problem areas. This time I was going to concentrate on the game elements themselves and tackle those thornier problems when we got to them.

My early attempt can be seen here. It has lots of shortcomings and a few glitches but the basic building blocks of the verb and puzzle solving structure is there. The green square represents where the character would be (used for positioning the speech bubbles).

Note: There is no Walk to function yet so "Use" doors to navigate around the ship.
