What if you’re interacting with an NPC in a video game, and instead of clicking on pre-selected answers based on dialogue trees or your current stats, you were actually able to type in the responses you wanted to say as though you were role-playing with an actual game master?
It’s been a dream for some developers for a long time, but last week the developers at Ocelet Society actually did just that, when they released their newest game Event[0]. It’s a game where you struggle to survive not just by solving puzzles, but conversing with an in-game AI that’s running on some surprisingly sophisticated technology that can interpret your actual responses.
How’d Ocelet Society pull it off?
