Best Of Indie Games: Have Faith in Moving and Shooting Blocks

IndieGames.com co-editor Tim W. looks at some of the top indie titles released over the past week, including a Katamari-inspired game for your web browser and a creepy exploration title.
[Every week, IndieGames.com: The Weblog co-editor Tim W. will be summing up some of the top free-to-download and commercial indie games from the last seven days on his sister 'state of indie' weblog.] This week on 'Best Of Indie Games', we take a look at some of the top independent PC Flash/downloadable titles released over this last week. The delights in this edition include an abstract shooter with a message, a bookmark-activated toy for your web browser, a Minesweeper RPG hybrid, and a creepy horror game that'll spook players a bit. Here's the highlights from the last seven days: Game Pick: 'BlockShooter' (Milk Corporation, freeware) "Milk Corporation's BlockShooter looks like your average abstract shooter, although it has a tongue-in-cheek message to divulge too. As you attempt to hold back the rushing blocks, your 'hatred' accumulates and eventually the going becomes too difficult to handle." Game Pick: 'Nina, Have Faith' (Droqen, browser) "Nina, Have Faith uses switching between light and dark worlds to completely creep out of whoever is playing. The main character can jump higher in the light world, and destroy things in the dark world, leading to a series of short puzzles." Game Pick: 'Katamari Hack' (Alex Leone, David Nufer and David Truong, browser) "Katamari Hack is a bookmark-activated toy for your web browser, that takes the classic Katamari Damacy and rolls all over your favourite websites. Initially you'll only be able to pick up smaller bits of text and images, but once you're humongous, anything is possible." Game Pick: 'Candles' (Mangy Gamez, freeware) "Clearly inspired by titles from Frictional Games, Candles is a creepy scarefest that uses darkness and spooky sounds to keep you constantly on edge. Nasty imp creatures have taken over your house, and you need to move careful around, lighting candles to scare them all away." Game Pick: 'The Legend of the Golden Robot' (Rob Donkin, browser) "The Legend of the Golden Robot is a Minesweeper RPG hybrid, mixing the classic tile hunting game with turn-based battling, leveling up and item hoarding. You can buy items at the shope, hear rumours of special treasures at the inn, then head out to dig up the land and find some valuables." Game Pick: 'TransmoverNG' (Polygon Gmen, browser) "Transmover New Generation is the sequel to Polygon Gmen's clever puzzle platformer released two years ago. There are sixty stages to play through, and every new level seems to introduce a new element or twi
