Best Of Indie Games: Follow My Way

Sister site IndieGames.com looks at the top PC Flash/downloadable indie titles released over the past week, including a two-player platformer encouraging cooperation, and a monochromatic roguelike.
[Every week, IndieGames.com: The Weblog co-editor-in-chief Tim W. will be summing up some of the top free-to-download and commercial indie games from the last seven days on his sister 'state of indie' weblog.] This week on 'Best Of Indie Games', we take a look at some of the top independent PC Flash/downloadable titles released over this last week. The delights in this edition include a two-player platformer that encourages cooperation, another Ludum Dare 21 entry, a monochromatic roguelike, plus a new 2D adventure game from the the creators of N+. Here's some recent highlights from the site: Game Pick: 'Way' (Coco & Co, freeware) "A two-player platformer crafted by Coco & Co, Way is probably best played co-cooperatively between two strangers because unlike many other games, you'll probably never learn your companion's name. There is neither text nor verbal communication in Way, no means to connect with one another outside of the gestures your respective characters can execute." Game Pick: 'Followed' (Paul Suddaby, browser) "Followed is a puzzle game in which you get to control two characters at the same time. The objective here is to kill your shadow copy by leading him to the fire, which can be a bit tricky considering that he will mimic every move you make." Game Pick: 'Yeti' (Mare Sheppard, freeware) "Yeti is a short adventure game created by Mare Sheppard using the AGS engine, where the story follows a documentary director and his crew on the expedition to film an elusive yeti somewhere in the Himalayas. You'll assist the snow giant with his travels to the sunny city of Toronto, settle in the woods with another one of his kind, and get a desk job in a fictional company called Mennonite Software." Game Pick: 'Sweat Life' (Brian Handy, browser) "Brian Handy's Sweat Life is an experimental art game with minimalist aesthetics and an interesting take to the depiction of a sweatshop worker's turbulent existence. Instead of having you issue commands from afar, Sweat Life will have you in the thick of the action yourself." Game Pick: 'Abduction Destruction' (Tipp and snowk, freeware) "Abduction Destruction is an arcade shooter in which the ammunition for your UFO is acquired by capturing humans and animals. Once caught, they can then be fired at tractors, choppers and army planes that are out to stop you from abducting everyone." Game Pick: 'Red Rogue' (Aaron Steed, browser) "Described as a 'platformer roguelike', Red Rogue will have you gallivanting through a largely monochromatic series of procedurally generated dungeons. As the titular thief, you're going to do battle against everything from rats to screaming banshees."
