Newsbrief: 3D character animation firm Mixamo has announced the release of Fuse on Steam, a 3D character modeler program to aid the fast generation of royalty-free creations for use in animation and games. Fuse comes packed in with Valve models, textures and other materials among its character generation assets. Users are able to save and share models freely as well as import them into game development platforms, animation software and machinima software such as Valve's own Source Filmmaker. "As more and more people want to create compelling 3D and game content, there is an increasing need for new tools that are easy to use and that enable users to share assets and collaborate on their projects," Valve's Mark Richardson said in conjunction with the announcement. "Fuse is a great example of how to offer all that while also delivering high-quality assets."
