Games writer and narrative designer Russell Lees has died. News of his passing comes via Ubisoft narrative veteran Darby McDevitt.
McDevitt described Lees as "a part of the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry families," and sung his praises as a friend and coworker. "All who worked with him will attest to his patience, his generosity, his passion, & his bright spirit," he added.
Lees (also credited as James Russell Lees on some titles) worked on games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Far Cry New Dawn, but his industry credits go all the way back to the '00s with games like Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers.
Other colleagues on Twitter described him as "a gem" and "great to work with."
