EA will remove Russia's national and clubs teams from FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile, and FIFA Online.

EA said the decision to curb Russian representation in its popular soccer series was made in line with its partners at FIFA and UEFA, with both organizations having suspended Russian teams from competitions including the World Cup and Europa League.

The move is a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has sparked a conflict between the two nations that continues to escalate due to Russian aggression.

"EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine," said EA in a statement.

"In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products. We're also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games.

"We will keep our communities up to date on any actions taken, and thank players for their patience as we work through these updates."

A growing number of game companies have spoken out against the Russian invasion, with many pledging financial aid to help Ukrainians in need.

As the situation escalates, Ukraine's vice prime minister has called on "all game companies," including major players like Microsoft and Sony, to temporarily halt operations in the Russian market.
