Nintendo has updated its North American WiiWare shop with two new titles, Gameloft’s
Block Breaker Deluxe (pictured) and Neko Entertainment’s
Cocoto Fishing Master. Nintendo has also added SNK’s Neo Geo fighter
Samurai Shodown to its Virtual Console offerings.
Released in Japan in May and originally a mobile title,
Block Breaker Deluxe is a
Breakout/Arkanoid remake featuring bright graphics and a two-player multiplayer mode. The block-breaker game includes a mix of nightlife settings, including bars, dance clubs, casinos, and more. Special bricks, multiple bonuses, secret weapons, paddle size options, and ball-speed variations are also available.
Making its worldwide debut,
Cocoto Fishing Master has players taking on the role of Cocoto as they travel the world to find five millennial fish. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as fishing rods, players can catch over thirty different fish in five distinct enchanted lakes. Players can also meet Cocoto’s friends, sell their fish, and buy new equipment from Neuro’s shop.
Originally released in 1993,
Samurai Shodown offers 12 swordsmen as playable characters. Each character wields his or her own specific weapon, but can also lose it during the heat of battle. The Neo Geo title features an anger gauge, which increases a character’s attacking ability as he or she is injured, and a camera that zooms in and out depending on the fighters’ proximity.
All three games are available for download on North America's Wii Shopping Channel, priced at 800 Wii Points ($8) for
Block Breaker Deluxe, 700 Wii Points ($7) for
Cocoto Fishing Master, and 900 Wii Points ($9) for
Samurai Shodown.
