According to a Nikkei report, Nintendo's exercise game
Wii Fit has already passed sales of one million units -- in just 37 days.
Released to the Japanese market on December 1, the game has enjoyed strong sales, reaching 1 million units by January 6. It quickly surpassed
Super Mario Galaxy, which was released to the Japanese market a month prior. According to
a tally on popular forum NeoGAF,
Galaxy's sales topped off at 720,000 for the week ending December 30 -- though Media Create, the source for the stats, does not keep running totals.
Wii Fit costs ¥8,800 in Japan -- or roughly U.S.$80 -- and comes with the Balance Board peripheral required to play the game. The U.S. release date and price of
Wii Fit are currently listed as TBA on Nintendo's press site.
