Warner Bros. Acquires Developer Snowblind Studios

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which owns publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has acquired developer Snowblind Studios, best known for early PS2 hit Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which owns publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has acquired developer Snowblind Studios. The Bothell, Washington-based development house was founded in 1997, and is responsible for Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, Justice League: Heroes, and Champions: Return to Arms. Snowblind was last known to be developing the Xbox Live Arcade game Death Tank, but has not released a game since 2006. It will become Warner's third internal studio, joining Monolith Productions (F.E.A.R.) and LEGO game house TT Games, owner of the Traveller's Tales developers. "The acquisition of Snowblind is an important milestone for our games business, allowing us to expand our development capabilities even further," said WBIE president Martin Tremblay. "We are proud to be associated with such a talented team that is focused on executing innovative and captivating game designs." No mention was made as to whether development on Death Tank will continue, or what other games Snowblind has in the works, although Warner did characterize the studio as "specializing in action and fantasy-based games."
