Nintendo has announced that this week's regular Wii Shop update will see the addition of two new classic games to the channel's offerings for Virtual Console, Pac Attack and Riot Zone. Originally released on Super Nintendo in 1996, Pac Attack is a rare appearance for the iconic yellow chomper outside of a maze environment. It resembles Tetris, in that the player must clear the board of falling blocks and ghosts by lining them up horizontally to make them disappear. Pac Man will eat all of the lined up ghosts unless blocks are in his way, and he can only move horizontally or vertically downward. Pac Attack features three game modes: single-player normal, two-player versus, and single-player puzzle. It's priced at 800 Wii Points ($8). Also releasing as part of the current update is 1992's TurboGrafx-16 CD-ROM title Riot Zone by Hudson Soft. It's a side-scrolling fighting title that follows two heroes fighting to take down an evil organization who has kidnapped protagonist Hawk's girlfriend. Players can select either Hawk, a karate master, or Tony, a "hard-hitter," as they navigate five stages in the Kowloon district. Riot Zone is priced at 800 Wii Points ($8).
