Video Games Art Exhibit 'Into the Pixel 2011' Calls for Submissions

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Entertainment Software Association have opened the submission process for this year's Into the Pixel video game art exhibit.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Entertainment Software Association have opened the submission process for this year's Into the Pixel video game art exhibit. Video game artists can submit their work via the Into the Pixel site. Winners will have their art displayed at numerous video game expos and conferences. Founded in 2004 by the ESA, Into the Pixel has made appearances in the past at events such as the E3 Expo, the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, South by Southwest Interactive and the European Festival of Art in Nottingham, England. Submissions for the exhibit close on April 15, and the 2011 collection will be chosen by a panel of jurors from a field of submissions. The 2011 Into the Pixel Collection will then be revealed at the E3 Expo in June. Last year's exhibit received more than 200 submissions, and 20 pieces of artwork were selected to be displayed. The Into the Pixel exhibit was established as an opportunity for computer and video game artists to receive critical review of their creative achievements by peers in the digital interactive and traditional fine art worlds.
