[Gamasutra rounds up the week's new releases in the console digital download world, this week highlighted by Gatling Gears, MDK2, and Plants Vs. Zombies.]
The PlayStation Network is, unfortunately, still not up with no sight of its return. End-of-May is Sony's goal, whether it reaches it or not is still in question.
Everyone else on the other hand seems to be having a grand old time. Xbox Live Arcade received
Gatling Gears, WiiWare has received the PC classic
MDK2, and DSiWare picked up
Plants Vs. Zombies.
Xbox Live Arcade
Here's today's main attraction --
Gatling Gears by Vanguard Games, published by EA. This top-down shooter is part of the world of
Greed Corp and
looks great. Grab it today for 1200MSP, though be wary of the 1.48GB file size.
The second title is a surprise release --
Star Raiders, another re-imagining of the classic Atari 2600 title, and it was completely unannounced. Well that's a little untrue -- it was announced for retail back in October but was
supposedly canned a month ago. Well now it seems to be back with nothing but a whisper from Atari. Grab it today for 800MSP, maybe it'll be worth a look.
There are also a few new pieces of downloadable content available.
Moon Diver has some free DLC called
Chain Kill Mode: Bloodbath!,
Trouble Witches Neo has the
new character Luca available for 160MSP, and
Strania has a new
Side VOWER mode available for 400MSP.
Xbox Live Indie Games

This week saw the release of Sequence, a new Xbox Live Indie Game title from Iridium Studios, which
sees players use a combination of Mana, Health and Defense, similar to that of Puzzle Quest and Clash Of Heroes, but instead using the gameplay element of matching falling arrows ala
Dance Dance Revolution.
Looks cool, certainly has a bigger budget feel to most XBLIG titles, and
Eurogamer quite liked it. Grab it today for 240MSP.
WiiWare/DSiWare (Europe)
This week's WiiWare release for Europe is another
Where's Wally? Fantastic Journey collection, the third one now available, again for 500 Wii Points.
The highlight for the week is Popcap's critically acclaimed
Plants Vs. Zombies, now available on DSiWare for 800 Points. Alongside it is also
Ikibago, a Match 3 game for 500 Points, and
Music on: Learning Piano Volume 2 for 200 Points.
WiiWare/DSiWare (North America)

A single WiiWare release this week, but a good one --
MDK2, a port of the classic PC, Dreamcast and PS2 game, has appeared on the storefront in what must be under 40MB of data. Hopefully it has stood up to the tests of time. Grab it today for 1,000 Points.
DSiWare isn't a slouch either with the release of
Mighty Milky Way by Wayforward, one of our favorite independent studios. Looks to be an awesome little puzzle game where you use gravity to pull yourself around planets.
Mighty Milky Way is available for 800 Points.
The final two DSiWare releases are
GO Series Tower of Deus, a nice looking platformer for 200 Points, and
Whack-A-Friend, a game where you do as the title describes for 200 Points.
