Mobile game publisher I-play has released details of research findings commissioned by the firm, which suggest that 79 percent of mobile gamers are either satisfied or very satisfied with the mobile games they play. The findings are in contrast to numerous recent comments from industry figures, most notably EA Mobile VP and former Jamdat CEO Mitch Lasky, that the mobile industry is suffering from too many poor quality games. I-play’s findings also suggest that 71 percent of respondents would recommend a mobile game to a friend. A total of 15 percent responded with the comment that their mobile gaming experience was better than expected, with 63 percent indicating it was as expected, but 22 percent suggesting it was not as good as expected. According to I-play, the survey was conducted with 300 North Americans, with an equal split between male and female game players who have downloaded a mobile game in the last six months. David Gosen, CEO of I-play said: “The mobile games industry is now showing its true potential through building a loyal base of users responding to a game experience with very high quality standards. The new generation of casual mobile gamers is vital in helping to fuel the industry’s continued growth, as they share their overwhelmingly positive experiences with gamers and non-gamers alike.”
