Sony Computer Entertainment revealed its most downloaded offerings for North America through the PlayStation Network, revealing
Call of Duty 4's April 2008 Variety Map Pack as not only its top add-on download, but also its all-time top download across the digital media delivery service.
Idol Minds-developed action game
Pain, a PS3 exclusive released in November 2007, is PSN's all-time most downloaded game.
Sony shared its top three downloaded games for last week, too, which were Capcom's
Super Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix, Midway's
Mortal Kombat II, and Konami's
Suikoden.
The networks' most downloaded game demo,
according to a report from game weblog Kotaku, is for LucasArts' multiplatform action title
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which debuted in August 2008.
SCE also says that the
Metal Gear-inspired Sack in the Box costume was the most popular downloadable
LittleBigPlanet costume, and noted virtual world Home's top three downloads -- a hooded top, a Resident Evil Degeneration G-Virus T-Shirt, and a Summer House.
As for non-video game related items, the PlayStation Network's top downloaded movie and TV show are
The Dark Knight and
Family Guy respectively.
Speaking at CES earlier in the month, SCE CEO Kaz Hirai shared that over 17 million accounts have been so far created for PSN, while users downloaded a total of 330 million pieces of content to date.
The company's Home service, which began open beta testing in December 2008, has seen 3.4 million downloads and already sold $1 million in virtual goods.
