Sega's American and European branches revealed that they will publish
The Conduit, a Wii-exclusive first-person shooter from developer High Voltage Games, in North America and Europe.
Touted as one of few hardcore-targeted games slated for Nintendo's system,
The Conduit charges players with investigating government conspiracies and battling an insect-alien race with futuristic weaponry in Washington D.C.
High Voltage Software built the title with its in-house and Wii-specific engine, Quantum 3. The game will support the upcoming WiiSpeak peripheral, which allows users to chat during online multiplayer matches. Additionally,
The Conduit will take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral, a device that enables the Wii Remote to capture more complex motions accurately.
"
The Conduit is one of the most talked-about Wii games this year, and High Voltage Software has only scratched the surface of the game in terms of what they have shown so far," says Sega of America president Simon Jeffery.
"They have proven that graphical and technological innovation can be exciting to the Wii market, and SEGA is thrilled to partner with a team that truly shares our belief in the Wii’s gaming potential beyond the casual market."
