Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced it is expanding its PlayStation business into Latin America, with the PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2 becoming officially available in 13 different countries in the region.
SCEA will partner with Sony Latin America to bring not only hardware and software but also the PlayStation Network. Additionally, localized versions of the official PlayStation.com website will also be introduced in selected countries.
"Our commitment to expand PlayStation business into Latin America supports our vision to provide access to social entertainment experiences that can be shared among friends and family from around the world," says Mark Stanley, director and general manager of Latin America at SCEA.
"This expansion is the direct result of us listening closely to our community, and we're proud to deliver premium hardware and software services that will allow them to easily connect, play and communicate with one another."
