Nintendo of America published its early 2009 line-up for Wii and Nintendo DS, including New Play Control! Pikmin and Pokémon Platinum, both scheduled for March. Nintendo places particular emphasis on the latter, as the new Pokémon title sold over 1 million copies in Japan, where it was published in September, within the first two days of release. The New Play Control! brand attached to Pikmin connotates a line of titles ported from the GameCube with new controls and graphical improvements. Nintendo also plans to put out New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis, a remake of the Camelot-developed Mario Power Tennis, in March. Other announced first-party offerings for early 2009 include Personal Trainer: Math (January) and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (February) for Nintendo DS, the latter of which released in Europe this December. The list also details third-party releases, such as the Suda51-directed Flower, Sun, and Rain, coming stateside for the first time with a DS remake, courtesy of Marvelous Entertainment USA.
