The PS4's next major system software update - 3.50, or codename 'Musashi' - will include a host of interesting new features, including PC and Mac Remote Play.

Sony revealed it was working on an official app for both platforms last November, and has now confirmed players will be able to stream PS4 gameplay through their PC or Mac using the system's Remote Play feature when 3.50 rolls out later this year.

The 3.50 update is largely designed to make it easier to connect with friends, and will feature 'friend online notificiations' to let players know when selected friends have signed in.

An 'appear offline' option, similar to the incognito mode in your browser, will be also be included, along with a new scheduling feature that should make it easier to organise gaming sessions.

The update will enter closed beta on March 2, although PC and Mac Remote Play won't be available for testing.
