News has leaked of two new hardware bundles for the PlayStation 3 in Europe, one featuring
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and the other including three high profile Blu-ray movies.
A spokesperson from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has confirmed to Gamasutra the existence of the two bundles, news of which was
leaked ahead of time by French website Jeux France.
The
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue bundle will include the 40GB model of the PlayStation 3 – currently the only version being sold in Europe – a copy of the game and the existing Sixaxis controller for €399 ($606). The bundle will launch across Europe on March 28th.
The second bundle contains the 40GB console, Sixaxis controller and Blu-ray movies Casino Royale, Spider-Man 3 and 300 and will also retail for ¥399.
The bundle, which will go on sale from March 19, is currently only confirmed for release in France - with a UK release specifically ruled out for the time being.
Despite the announcement of a
forthcoming hardware bundle in the U.S. featuring
Metal Gear Solid 4, no such equivalent bundle has been confirmed in Europe and nor has there been any word on a release date for the DualShock 3 controller.
