New DS Colors, Cooking Guide Announced For Europe

Officials from Nintendo of Europe have announced that three new SKUs for the Nintendo DS Lite will be launched this summer, featuring new colors red, turquoise and green. The new colors will be launched in Europe on June 13th, at the standard Nintendo DS Lite price of £99. With no regularly released hardware sales available in the UK it is impossible to track recent sales, although there have been no major stock problems for the console this year. Software sales continue to be extremely buoyant though, with thirteen out of the top forty selling titles in the UK last week being for the Nintendo DS. The best selling title for the format continues to be Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (aka Brain Age) at number seven. Also announced at the same time is the previously confirmed Cooking Guide: Can’t Decide What To Eat? from Nintendo. An adaptation of the popular 2006 Japanese Touch! Generations title Shaberu! DS Oryōri Navi (popularly referred to as Cooking Navi), the software contains around 250 international dishes, with a more practical remit than the mini-game based Cooking Mama. Cooking Guide will be released in Europe on June 20th, but neither it nor the three new Nintendo DS console colors have been confirmed for North America.
