Officials from European publisher and distributor Koch Media have announced the company’s new “As Seen On TV” label, which will be used to publish a new range of family-focused titles based on popular local television show franchises.
Licenses already planned for the line include games based on shows such as Golden Balls, The Magic Roundabout and Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old? Other titles include a 3D sequel to 2007 release
Deal Or No Deal.
Each game will feature shared packaging elements, including the As Seen On TV logo. The initial titles launching this winter will be
Deal Or No Deal 2008,
Golden Balls and
Professor Heinz Wolff’s Gravity – all on Wii and Nintendo DS. Wii titles will be priced at £29.99 ($60) and Nintendo DS titles £19.99 ($40).
Due to the limited audiences, licensed products for local content are relatively rare in Europe and traditionally restricted to budget, portable console or mobile phone releases.
“We are delighted to be launching the As Seen On TV range during the key Christmas retail period,” said Craig McNicol, managing director at Koch Media.
“With its strong visual branding, competitive price point and superb line up of much-loved titles and TV personalities we expect this to be a massive hit with family audiences over the Christmas season,” he added.
