Chicago-based Iron Galaxy Studios has lightly reshuffled its leadership team, and added a new name to that roster in doing so.

The studio announced today that COO Chelsea Blasko has been tapped to step into the co-CEO role alongside existing CEO Adam Boyes. Today's shuffle also sees former Bungie communications director David "Deej" Dague joining the team at Iron Galaxy Studios as its new head of communications.

Blasko has been with Iron Galaxy Studios for just over a decade, most recently in the role of chief operating officer. Dague, meanwhile, joins the company after having spent 9 years at Destiny developer Bungie.

"I had the pleasure of working with him on Destiny’s launch when I was at PlayStation,” reads a statement from now co-CEO Boyes. “He has built world class teams and we couldn’t be happier about having him join our studio to lead the communications function at Iron Galaxy especially during the development of our new IP.”

Both moves serve to better angle the often support-focused studio to work on its own upcoming console and PC project, an original multiplayer melee combat IP. A press release notes that Iron Galaxy has also been quietly staffing up in order to ready for that project, having recently expanded its team with more than 30 new hires this year.

“Despite the myriad challenges presented by the pandemic, Iron Galaxy continues to grow. The studio has expanded from 140 to more than 175 people this year," reads a statemeent from Blasko. "Our supportive work-from-home culture ensures our staff feels cared for and valued as individuals. Our focus on creativity, communication, diversity, and inclusion has helped us attract and retain the best talent in the business.”
