Harmonix Reveals Final Rock Band Song List

Harmonix and MTV Games have released the final song list for highly feted upcoming music game Rock Band, with a total of 45 songs initially available, with 13 songs as unlockable content within the retail page - full listing inside.
Harmonix and MTV Games have released the final song list for highly feted upcoming music game Rock Band. Slated to release on November 20, 2007 in the U.S. on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and later in the year on PS2, the game features cooperative guitar, bass, drum and vocal play with specialized controllers. Further details on the release are available in this prior report. Interestingly, a handful of the final song selections are already available in Red Octane, Neversoft and Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, which hit stores this weekend. The Killers' "When You Were Young". The Strokes' "Reptilia", Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock", and Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" are all in both games. "Our goal with Rock Band was to give players the chance to experience an amazing cross section of music from the last four decades, and our final list of tracks includes everything from emerging bands to iconic artists," stated Paul DeGooyer, MTV's Senior Vice President of Home Entertainment, Music and Games. Further songs, including entire albums, will be available as downloadable content on the PS3 and 360. These include the full albums Who's Next by The Who and Nevermind by Nirvana, among others.
