Developer Epicenter Studios announced that it will donate a share of sales proceeds from its upcoming Nintendo Wii title Real Heroes: Firefighter to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. Real Heroes: Firefighter, to be published by Conspiracy Entertainment in the third quarter of 2009, simulates the career of a firefighter. Players will battle blazes and rescue victims in a selection of realistic fire scenarios. The title was developed in cooperation with veteran firefighters, who ensured that the in-game fires accurately present a dangerous and unpredictable challenge. "We wanted to try to give back to these brave women and men who put their lives on the line every day to keep the public safe," said Epicenter Studios CEO Nathaniel McClure. "This is our attempt to bring recognition and support to a wonderful organization that not only supports firefighters battling cancer but also aggressively promotes prevention and early detection." The Firefighter Cancer Support Network is a volunteer group that provides medical and financial assistance to fire department members and their families.
