Devs battle streamers at their own games to raise money for charity

Ivy Games (Gravity Ghost) is organizing a neat weekend competition later this month that will see more than twenty devs competing with streamers seeking to beat them at their own games -- for charity.

Erin Robinson's indie studio Ivy Games (Gravity Ghost) is organizing a neat weekend competition later this month that will see more than twenty game developers competing with streamers seeking to beat them at their own games.

Beat The Devs is a bit akin to events like Summer Games Done Quick and Extra Life (insofar as it will see a slew of people playing games on a livestream while calling for charitable donations from viewers) but the fact that it's organized and chiefly composed of game makers sets it apart.

The event will take place Friday, November 20th through Sunday, November 22nd and feature a lineup of developers like Kellee Santiago and Ryan Clark playing games they've worked on (so for those two, Journey and Crypt of the NecroDancer, respectively) against known YouTube and Twitch streamers. Viewers are encouraged to kick in donations, 100 percent of which will go to the Sierra Club environmental nonprofit.
