Just shy of one week after launch, Bungie has removed an in-game armor piece from Destiny 2 after being alerted that the gauntlet’s design strongly resembled that of a white supremacist flag.

The developer took to Twitter earlier today to note that it had been made aware of the similarities between a then-unnamed gauntlet and a common hate symbol, and would remove the item from the game in response.

Waypoint later deduced that the item in question is likely the Road Complex AA1 gauntlets, a legendary armor piece that resembles the ‘KEK’ logo found on a common white supremacist flag, both in design and color. 

“At Bungie, our company values place the highest emphasis on inclusion of all people and respect for all who work with us or play our games,” said Bungie CEO Pete Parsons over Twitter.

At the time of Bungie’s initial tweet vowing to remove the item, Destiny 2 itself was down for scheduled maintenance. That downtime has since been extended as the developer addresses “some new issues.”
