Bungie has revealed that the
sales success of last Tuesday's
Halo: Reach launch has also translated into gameplay success, with over 31 million distinct games already logged on the title.
The statistic, which was posted as part of
Bungie's Weekly Update last Friday, accompanied other numbers showing that over 2,000 man-years of time have already been dumped into the Xbox 360 exclusive game.
As of Friday, more time had been spent on the game's single-player campaign (1,375 man-years overall) than on matchmade multiplayer games (963 man-years, overall), Bungie revealed, suggesting many players are working through the game's story before spending extended time battling others.
Reach's new system of challenges seem to be attracting player interest, with over 8.2 million daily challenges and 250,000 weekly challenges completed in the game's first four days of availability.
The photo and video-sharing system first introduced to the series in
Halo 3 has also attracted extensive use from
Reach players. Over 850,000 files were downloaded more than 4.6 million times by last Friday.
Halo: Reach has already surpassed
Halo 3's record for concurrent users on Xbox Live, surpassing 700,000 simultaneous players on launch day, Bungie said.
