Publisher AQ Interactive is canceling Xbox 360 title Cry On, an action RPG under development by Mistwalker and AQI-owned Cavia (Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles), citing current market conditions and future forecasts. Announced in 2005, Cry On would have been the third Mistwalker game released exclusively for the Xbox 360, following RPGs Blue Dragon in 2007 and Lost Odyssey in 2008. Though no screenshots were ever shown for the title, it was slated to include a soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame, as well as character designs by Kimihiko Fujisaka (Drakengard series). "AQI decided to cancel the project after analyzing the current market environment and forecasts for the future," said the company, according to a report from consumer game site 1UP, while offering no further details. "We deeply apologize for troubling those who were awaiting its release." Since its establishment in 2004 by Square Enix veteran Hironobu Sakaguchi, and with financial backing from Microsoft, Mistwalker has so far released three Nintendo DS titles and two Xbox 360 games. The studio is currently working on a Blue Dragon sequel.
