Wii Fit Still Exercising Control Over Japanese Charts
There has been no change at the top in the Japanese charts this week, with Wii Fit still at number one, and the rest of the top ten also largely the same as the previous week, with the only significant new entry being Mario & Sonic on DS.
There has been no change at the top in the Japanese charts this week, with Wii Fit still at number one with 92,000 units sold. The rest of the top ten is also largely the same as the previous week, in terms of both chart positions and unit sales. The sole new entry of the week is the new Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games at number two with 90,000 units sold. Although the older Wii version has moved up one place to number eight sales have actually dropped by around 3,000 units. As before Monster Hunter Freedom 2 on PSP remains the only non-Nintendo format game in the top ten, retaining the same chart position and unit sales of 24,000 as last week. Wii Play has slipped out of the top ten this week to number twelve, replaced by Super Mario Galaxy at number ten with 16,000 units sold. In the wider top thirty there are only two other new entries, with interactive anime adventure School Days LxH on PlayStation 2 new at number twenty. Baseball simulator Power Pro Kun Pocket 10 on Nintendo DS at number twenty-five is actually a re-entry, after originally having been released at the beginning of December.
