Capcom's recently released Resident Evil 5 demo on Xbox Live hit 1.8 million downloads over the weekend, says Microsoft. Globally, more than 1.3 million Xbox Live members downloaded the demo in the first three days following its January 26th release. The demo was exclusive to Xbox Live gold members during these three days, becoming available to non-paying silver members from January 29th. The demo was first released in Japan in December as Biohazard 5, and was downloaded by more than 53 percent of Japanese Xbox Live gold members. The Xbox 360 demo was a one-week exclusive for Microsoft’s platform, with the PlayStation 3 version to be available on February 2nd. No data has yet been provided for its release. One of the most anticipated titles of this Spring, the full game is due for release simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 5th in Japan, and on March 13th in North America and Europe.
