Despite an overall quiet week for the Japanese sales charts, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl’s fourth week of sales has seen the games become the fastest in the series to pass the 2 million unit mark, with over 2.5 million copies of the two DS games now sold. The highest new entry of the week was manga based soccer tie-in Captain Tsubasa from Namco Bandai. The manga and related anime has seen various video game adaptations over the years, although its debut on the PS2 has been relatively modest. The other new entry at number five is the DS SKU of what will be known in the West as Custom Robo Arena, although its fairly high position is largely due to the relative lack of competition this week. Hardware sales have been similarly soft, with Nintendo DS sales up only slightly on the previous week, to 117,071 units sold. PlayStation 2 sales were down to 22,380 units, while PSP was also down slightly at 20,271 units. Sales for the Game Boy Advance family of consoles were static at 4,093 units, while the Xbox 360 was down again to 1,287 and the GameCube stuck on 638 units.
