Mario Kart Still In Pole In Japanese Charts

A lack of new releases has meant the Japanese sales charts have remained largely static this week, with only one new entry in the top ten and continued dominance for Mario Kart Wii and Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G on the PSP.
In a similar manner to the current UK charts, a lack of new releases has meant the Japanese sales charts have remained largely static this week. The number one title across both charts is also the same, with Mario Kart Wii selling 202,000 units in its second week in Japan, for a current lifetime total of 795,000. The second place title is still Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, with 124,000 units sold and a lifetime total of 1,714,000 after just four weeks. After the top two selling titles there is a sharp decline in sales, with the highest new entry of the week at number three selling only 35,000 units. Named Bokura wa Kaseki Holder the new Nintendo published DS title involves hunting for and collecting dinosaur fossils. The only other new entries in the top thirty are all for the Nintendo DS, with a budget re-release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney at number twenty-one, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All at number twenty-six and a bookkeeping training title from Square Enix at number twenty-eight.
