LittleBigPlanet Co-Creator Evans To Speak At DICE

Media Molecule co-founder and LittleBigPlanet co-creator Alex Evans will speak at the upcoming 2009 DICE Summit in Las Vegas, says organizer The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS).
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) announced that Media Molecule co-founder and LittleBigPlanet co-creator Alex Evans will speak at its 2009 DICE (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit coming up February 17 - 20 in Las Vegas. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in the UK, Media Molecule released its first title, LittleBigPlanet, exclusively for the PlayStation 3 last November. The title was widely praised by reviewers and gamers for its charming presentation and user generated content features. LittleBigPlanet was nominated for ten awards for DICE Summit's AIAS Interactive Awards this year -- the most nominations for any game this year. Those award nominations include "Outstanding Innovation in Gaming" and "Overall Game of the Year." "The incredible achievement that Alex Evans and his colleagues at Media Molecule accomplished with LittleBigPlanet is the perfect topic for this year’s conference," says AIAS president Joseph Olin. "The D.I.C.E Summit line-up is the strongest yet featuring many of the speakers that are defining our industry and laying the groundwork for future generations of game creators." Other planned speakers for the event include Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello, EA DICE (Mirror's Edge, Battlefield series) creative director Lars Gustavsson, and Insomniac Games (Resistance 2) CEO and president Ted Price. You can find more information on the event and the scheduled sessions at the 2009 DICE Summit's official site.
