Newsbrief: Seven years after its launch (and four after its more successful relaunch), Final Fantasy XIV has passed 10 million cumulative players thanks to what developer Square Enix describes as "robust updates" speckled throughout the game's lifetime.
The milestone itself comes just shortly after the massively multiplayer online game launched its second major expansion pack on both PC and PS4 and just months after it ended PS3 support.
It is worth noting however that the 10 million tally includes those who took advantage of the game’s free trial option. Previously, that demo period allowed players timed access to a slice of Eorzean life, but a recent rework of the system switched it to offer free play up to level 35.
