Facebook has named its selections for the best games of 2017 to appear across the various video game platforms spread throughout its social media website and apps.
This year’s picks notably come in a year where Facebook has reaffirmed its commitment to video games by working with developers to both reshape its games business and once again attract devs to its platform.
The web giant breaks its choices down by the different platforms appearing within its suite of social media apps, dividing titles into categories for best Instant, Web, and Gameroom games. Additionally, this year’s winners were selected by a panel of industry judges listed on Facebook’s developer portal.
For 2017, Facebook has named Hyper Hippo Productions’ AdVenture Capitalist as Best Instant Game and Wooga’s June’s Journey as Best Web Game. For titles appearing on its Gameroom platform, Facebook broke its picks into two separate free to play and paid categories.
Disney’s Star Wars: Commander walked away as 2017’s best Free to Play Gameroom Game, while 1979 Revolution: Black Friday by iNK Stories has named both best Gameroom Game and 2017’s Facebook Game of the Year.
