Rock Band Full Albums to Include Judas Priest, Pixies, Cars

Harmonix and MTV Games has announced that Rock Band will add heavy metal band Judas Priest's "Screaming for Vengeance," its first complete album to be featured as downloadable, playable tracks for the game, to the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation network. "Screaming for Vengeance" will first appear on the Xbox Live Marketplace on April 22, with individual tracks selling for $1.99 each (160 Microsoft Points) and the entire album for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points). The album will be available on the PlayStation Network on April 24. Harmonix also plans to release two more complete albums as Rock Band downloads, The Cars‘ "The Cars" in May and The Pixies‘ "Doolittle" in June - with presumably similar pricing, though this has not yet been confirmed by Harmonix. During last year's E3Expo, Harmonix announced that the first full album to be released for download would be The Who's "Who's Next." According to an interview with MTV Multiplayer, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos stated the company is mired in Who-related delays with the band's record company, but that "another announcement of something" around The Who would be released. This news follows Motley Crue's announcement on April 15 to release its new single exclusively through Rock Band, another first for the game. Def Leppard shortly afterwards revealed its plans to also release a new single exclusively through Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on April 24th.
