You can now add 'ancient Swedish castle' to the list of game jam locales

Heads up, game jam enthusiasts: if you can get to Sweden, you can buy a ticket to join teams of fellow developers taking part in a week-long game jam this summer at Örebro Castle (pictured, a medieval castle in the Swedish town of Örebro).

It's part of the annual Castle Game Jam, which has been happening since at least 2015. Castle Jam is chiefly notable as it adds "ancient Swedish castles" to the list of places you can find game jams, which currently includes trains, planes and Nordic cruise ships.

The popularity of game jams has swelled so much, in fact, that this year the Castle Jam organizers have secured tickets to next year's Nordic Game Jam to offer as prizes in their own game jam. More information on what's involved with taking part in the Castle Game Jam (which runs July 4-10) can be found on its website.

Incidentally, Capy chief Nathan Vella gave a great talk at GDC 2013 about turning game jam prototypes into full games, which you can watch right here for free courtesy of the GDC Vault.
