Fez creator Phil Fish has given some insight into just how important the Steam Summer Sales can be for developers, stating that his game has sold around 105,000 copies in just 48 hours.

Fez creator Phil Fish has given some insight into just how important the Steam Summer Sales can be for developers, stating that his game has sold more during the first 24 hours of being on offer, compared to the time since release just under three months ago. Valve is well-known for running a series of highly-lauded holiday-based sales each year, with the summer sales in particular a favorite among consumers and developers alike. Fez was originally launched via Steam at the start of May, and was launched on Xbox 360 a year before that. In a series of tweets, Fish noted, "we sold more copies in the first 24 hours of the sale than we had on steam in the first 3 months since release." He later added that "over the course of the full 48 hours, we sold more than we had in our first month on XBLA." In total, the game has sold more than 105,000 copies in just the 48 hours that it was 50% off during the Steam sale, he noted.
