Metropolitan Police in the UK have arrested a teenager in connection with the recent wave of website hacking, and believe there may be a link between the suspect and the recent PSN attack. The unnamed 19-year-old male from Wickford, Essex, has been arrested for alleged Computer Misuse Act and Fraud Act offences, and is currently being held at a central London police station. Police said that there is a link between the arrested individual and hacking group LulzSec. Although the suspect has been specifically arrested in connection with the DDOS attack on the Serious Organised Crime Agency website, a spokesperson for the Met Police told news site Develop that he was also being questioned regarding the recent PlayStation Network breach, which saw data from over 77 million PSN accounts compromised. "We will examine the individual for any Sony data," said the spokesperson. Scotland Yard said that "a significant amount of material" found at the suspect's home will be examined. Last week, Lulzsec claimed responsibility for cyber attacks on services for online games Minecraft from Mojang and CCP's EVE Online, as well as popular gaming website The Escapist.
