Newsbrief: Ubisoft has sued BEP Music -- the company that holds the trademark for hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas -- for allegedly failing to approve an iOS version of console game The Black Eyed Peas Experience. The complaint, as reported by Courthouse News Service, notes that Ubisoft entered into a licence agreement with the band in June 2011, allowing the company to use the group's names and likenesses in videos games for home consoles and iOS devices. However, when Ubisoft submitted material for the iOS game earlier this year, BEP allegedly did not respond, and continues to ignore requests from Ubisoft, therefore breaching the terms of the contract. Ubisoft is claiming damages in excess of $1 million. Gamasutra has contacted both parties for comment.
