Two charities unite to help hospitalized disabled kids play games

This week the charitable organizations AbleGamers and Gamers Outreach announced a partnership that will see them working together to provide more accessible video games to hospitalized children.

It's a nice bit of teamwork aimed at making the portable, self-contained video game stations GO provides to hospitals (fittingly named "GO Karts") more accessible to kids (and adults as well, though kids are the main focus) who may have limited mobility or other special needs.

To that end, the AbleGamers Foundation will be providing a number of "Expansion Packs" that can augment a GO Kart with a slew of specialized controllers and other tools that make it easier to play games on the Kart.

AbleGamers has been providing such packs since last year, and this more formal partnership between the two organizations will start with a joint donation to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta medical organization.

Devs curious to learn more about the GO Karts program and how to donate time or equipment can do so via the GO website.
