Newsbrief: Variety reports that Twitter hired former YouTube director of gaming content Rodrigo Velloso as its director of gaming partnerships.

His remit will be getting more game content on Twitter -- from developers to YouTubers, Twitch streamers, conferences and conventions, and eSports stars.

"My entire career at Google revolved around content partnerships. I want to work with content creators and give them the tools, or in some cases build them the tools, to allow them to produce the best content," Velloso told Variety.

There's no word on what Velloso's immediate plans are, however -- though he's already tweeting about video games.
