KingsIsle Entertainment's teen-focused MMO Wizard101 is expected to pass 20 million user registrations this week, just shy of three years on the market, according to the company. The news comes just over one year after the game hit 10 million registrations, meaning that user acquisition for the game managed to increase after its first 20 months on the market. The company also reports an increase of unique visitors to the game's website: in June there were approximately 12 million unique visitors, an increase of 196 percent from what was reported last year. According to KingsIsle VP of marketing Fred Howard, the increase in unique visitors is "the more meaningful measure of success." "Our current level of traffic suggests that Wizard101 has become one of the world's most popular online destinations for kids and families," he added. Note that this data is specific to the United States, and does not incorporate the European version of Wizard101, which is distributed by German online game publisher Gameforge.
