Student Needs Anecdotes for Paper

I am currently doing research for a paper which explores the common threads amongst vectors of control over the game industry in the past 40 years.

If anyone has any anecdotes or cases they believe would fit well into this topic please comment or send me an email. It could be anything, a game, a law, an experience with publishers, retailers.

Any time someone tried to control the game industry through any means. I'm specifically interested in WHY someone tried to control the industry.
